Cacao, milk and Reishi mushroom as your potent drink
Reishi mushroom is probably the most well-known and researched mushroom. In many Asian healing traditions, Reishi mushroom is also known as ”Queen of the mushrooms”, these potent fungi are often used for their longevity and calming effects.
Ganoderma lucidum enhances the immune system and can help regulate the mood. Some even say Reishi may help increase alpha waves in the brain, contributing to an altered state of mind.
What to medicinal mushrooms powders taste like?
When just adding them to plain water, they tend to taste a slightly bitter, depending on the mushroom. Reishi mushroom powder has probably the most bitter taste of the three mushroom powders that we sell. Chaga has a kind of tea/coffee-like character with an earthy undertone. Lion’s Mane is the most neutral medicinal mushroom when it comes to the taste, and it’s flavor blend very easy, especially with fruit smoothies
When you add the mushroom powders to simple drinks or dishes, they actually taste very nice and can enhance certain flavors like coffee, cacao, and plant-based milk.
Now over to the recipe, we made an easy but delicious Reishi milk, with just a few ingredients!
Ingredients for 1 serving Reishi mushroom cacao milk:
- 1 teaspoon Reishi powder
- 1 teaspoon cacao powder
- 240 ml of hazelnut milk (or any other plant milk)
- sweetner is optional
Add all the in ingredients to a milk frother or a small saucepan and give it a good stir, then serve in your favorite mug!
