30 Aug Chaga Chai Tea or Latte
The base of most chai blends is black tea and therefore contain caffeine. When you replace the black tea with Chaga Powder you get rid of the caffeine. Chaga contains high levels of antioxidants and has a deep and earthy flavor, making it the perfect condiment for a delicious Chai. This super mushroom is also rich in vitamins, minerals, and nutrients to name a few; B-complex vitamins, vitamin D, zinc, selenium, and amino acids. Never had a Chai this healthy!
Traditionally, you make a chai latte in a pan, filled with milk or water, into which you draw fresh tea leaves, herbs and spices. It is one of the few types of tea where you can cook the tea directly in the milk. Cinnamon, cloves, ginger and cardamom are commonly used ingredients to give the chai latte its unique, spicy taste. Whether you go for a chai tea with milk or with water, our Chaga Mush powder gives your Chai tea the perfect taste!
For a big batch of Chaga Chai Tea
– 6-7 Slices of Fresh Ginger (unpeeled) or 1 Tbsp. Ground Ginger
– 1,5 l of water
– 1-2 tsp Chaga Mushroom Powder
– 3-4 Cinnamon Sticks
– 20 Whole Cloves
– 20 Whole Peppercorns
– Fresh Nutmeg – Grated
– 1 Tbsp of maple syrup or any other sweetner (optional)
– 20 Cardamom Pods (crushed)
– 3-4 Star of Anise
Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
Once boiling, add all of the ingredients. Reduce heat to low.
Simmer covered for 30 minutes.
Strain and ladle into cups.
Also good with a some frothed plant based milk or try to replace the water with vegan milk for the most luxurious chai milk.
